  command

    A *command* is a series of words (including punctuation) given to run a
    program with some set of `command-line arguments`.

    A command may be typed at `command-line interface` or be executed
    automatically by a process.

  command-line interface

    A user interface to an application that operates using only plaintext typed
    into a command interpreter and written back to the user as text output.

  command-line arguments

    The series of words and punctuation given to a `command` that control the
    behavior of the program.
